Most Freeview boxes, Sky and Sky+ still use SCART or S-VIDEO to send video to the screen.
As with other formats good cables deliver better results than cheap cables and it can be surprising to see the quality that can be obtained from good ‘old fashioned’ analogue video.
This is particularly true of, but not confined to Component Video. We have seen some excellent results, for example from laptop computers using S-Video.
